Volunteers make a big difference to the services that we run at Age Connects Torfaen. They play a vital role in everything we do. We quite simply couldn’t do it without them.
Reasons to volunteer:
- It’s a great way to meet new people
- You can learn new skills
- Gain new experiences
- Gain satisfaction from helping others
- And most importantly, have fun!
No qualifications are necessary, all you need is a little free time, a big heart and a good sense of humour!
Volunteering can also lead to paid positions with our organisation. Experience gained as a volunteer is considered an all-important attribute when recruiting new people.
“It has given me more confidence… it’s on my CV at interviews and people comment on it!”
“Volunteering has enabled me to put something back into the organisation that has given me so much.”
“Having nursed my mother in law at home until her sad death , I feel volunteering with Age Connects gives me a sense of feeling needed. I get great satisfaction from helping others and hopefully making someone’s life a little easier.”
“Since retiring I was at a loss and as I am disabled. Age Connects Torfaen has helped me a lot, given me a new interest and I can help others in the process.”
